Incorporating a corporation in Wisconsin

Corporate Name Requirements

Name of Wisconsin corporation must be distinguishable from name of any reserved or registered entity or fictitious names. Company Express will research your company name to make sure it meets Wisconsin's standards.

Permitted designations: Wisconsin's corporate names must contain one of the following words at the end of the name:

Officer Qualifications: No special provisions.

Appearance in articles: Director names and addresses are required to be listed in the Articles of Incorporation.

Local registered agent is required in Wisconsin. 

Annual Reports

Time to file: Annual reports with must be filed the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions during the calendar year quarter in which the anniversary date of the company’s incorporation falls. The state filing fee is $40.

Signatures: Only company officers are authorized to sign annual reports. Emailed or faxed signatures are accepted.
